Organized a Study in Japan Seminar in Indonesia

Okayama University hosted the Study in Japan seminar on 9 February at the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia and Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Indonesia, with support from Tohoku University. The event was organized as part of the Global Network Project to Promote Study in Japan (ASEAN Regional Office).

The program began with an overview of studying in Japan and an explanation of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), presented by the JASSO Indonesia Office. This was followed by a presentation from the Embassy of Japan outlining the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship—Embassy Recommendation. As part of the project, we introduced the “Study in Japan Roadmap,” which provides a clear summary of the steps required to prepare for admission to undergraduate programs at Japanese universities. The session concluded with Tohoku University’s introduction of "Gateway College", its forthcoming English-taught undergraduate program scheduled to launch in 2027. During the Q&A session, participants engaged actively with the speakers, raising numerous thoughtful and insightful questions.

We will continue to work closely with our partner institutions in both Indonesia and Japan to further enhance support for Indonesian students aspiring to pursue their studies in Japan.
