Why did you choose to study in Japan?

I have always fascinated by the Japan’s culture and high quality of education. I chose Japan over Thailand as I not only want to study in Japan, but also, wanted to travel in Japan.

How did you prepare for studying in Japan?

I found about the International University of Japan (IUJ) as I was searching for the universities offering courses in English language. I emailed IUJ and enquired about the requirements. I studied and prepared to take TOEFL, GMAT exams before coming to IUJ.

What are you studying/researching in Japan?

I studied Digital Transformation Program (1 year). And now I am studying for a one-year MBA after completing my first program.

What do you do in your personal time?

I am currently working as a part time library assistant at IUJ’s library. Usually, I do chores and grocery shopping during weekends or holidays.

Please tell us about your challenges in Japan and how you overcame them.

Japan is a very clean and convenient country to live in. The major challenges we encountered are the language barrier and the living cost. Although I am learning Japanese language, it is still not enough to understand or able to communicate especially official business or visiting offices etc. Living cost of Japan is also major challenge for foreign students to meet ends’ need especially who only has partial scholarship or no scholarship at all.

Any encouraging message and/or advice to those who wish to study in Japan?

Language is the most important to survive in Japan. So, I would like to convey to those who are planning to study in Japan to study as much Japanese as you can before coming to Japan.
