What did you do before studying in Japan?

I went to university for one year.

Why did you chose to study in Japan?

At first it was my personal preference upon Japanese cultures that got me interested but after deciding to study aboard, I decided Japan would be a good place to learn about a society that is different from where I am and to become a person of punctuality, consistency and a mindset that is determined to contribute back to the country

How did you prepare for studying in Japan?

It was more of a destiny than a pure coincidence that I should a banner sign of an invitation to a seminar on Ritsumeikan APU by an agent called SR worldwide, which I then also went to Study in Japan, to look out for more options to weigh but this ultimately become a way that can take me to Japan without much time delay and financial burden.

How is your student life in Japan?

Now that I am here, in my third year already, I have been able to pursue a goal that otherwise would never have come across in my life if I didn’t decide to study abroad. I can now converse in Japanese and Korean, in addition to prior knowledge upon Chinese, English, Burmese and my ethnic language Kachin. I am planning to work for some time in Korea and APU has given me chances to make a lot of local friends and to get used to their culture and also improved my language capability. Language classes at APU are indeed intriguing.

Any message and/or advice to those who wish to study in Japan?

Especially for youths of Myanmar, there was never a chance for us to try to know what we are good at or what kind of career path we want. Even as an Accounting and Finance major student, I was never sure for certain that business is something that I want to learn, but it is stepping out of the comfort zone that I was able to expand my view and learn to seize new opportunities. Regardless of my major, I am pursuing a different career life. Unless you try, you won’t know, unless you climb the mountain, you won’t know whether it is tall or not. But I can guarantee that it won’t go wasted and regretted. All in all, I am not sure if this is the path I want but I can say for certain that I am enjoying what I am doing.
