What did you do before studying in Japan?

University student majoring in Japanese.

Why did you choose to study in Japan?

Since Japan is well-known for a high education system, I chose to study in Japanese university where I can study both Japanese language and other specialization at the same time.

How did you prepare for studying in Japan?

First of all, I found the list of universities from the Study in Japan website. Then, I searched a precise information about the universities through their websites and did the application process.

What are you studying/researching in Japan?

I am studying the liberal studies which allow me to learn interdisciplinary subjects such as international relations, economy and business, communication and cultural studies before majoring in a particular one.

What do you do in your personal time?

I usually spend my spare time by doing a part-time job and sometimes travelling with my friends to explore the different places in Japan.

Please tell us about your challenges in Japan and how you overcame them.

Communication in Japan would not be easy unless you can speak Japanese. Although I have studied Japanese about 2 years before coming to Japan, I had some difficulties when I communicate with native speakers. Nevertheless, those troubles help me to improve my Japanese skills.

Any encouraging message and/or advice to those who wish to study in Japan?

If you are passionate to study in Japan, never give up and keep doing until your dream will fulfill. You will definitely enjoy your study life in Japan.
